Looking Beyond Operational Data: Connecting Satisfaction and Outcome

Developing a single repository of operational, satisfaction and outcomes data provides AAOE with a unique opportunity to examine new performance metrics for orthopaedic practices. The purpose of this session is to identify these metrics and discuss how to use data available from the AAOE Benchmarking Results and AAOE Empower to improve quality of care. Presenters will share ideas on how available data can be effectively integrated and will solicit feedback from attendees on the metrics developed.

Biography
Kress M. Stein has spent his career developing and expanding businesses for major medical systems companies and medical informatics technology companies, including GE Medical, Philips Healthcare, 3M Medical, and StorageTek (Oracle). Kress has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a MBA degree. His professional experience includes roles in product development, marketing, sales, and executive management. In 2000, he co-founded Medstrat, the first orthopaedic imaging company, and grew the business to an installed base of over 100 customers. In 2005, he founded FusionOne, a digital image storage and retrieval software company, which later merged with Ultralinq and eventually acquired by Renew.

Biography
Vicki Sprague has more than 15 years of experience in program evaluation and outcomes management. She is passionate about helping organizations turn data into information that can be used for decision making and quality improvement. Sprague has a Doctorate in social psychology and expertise in data analysis, research methods, logic model development, and communicating results. She has successfully implemented data analytics and outcome evaluation programs and worked in collaboration with organizational and industry leaders to promote the effective use of data in a variety of settings. Sprague has shared results through a variety of presentations, reports, and publications.
