Ortho Coding: What we Know & What we Don't Know

Most specialties are only focused on the E&M changes, but the average ortho practice has much more to EACH year to be current with by way of coding/billing revisions and updates. Making sure you are up-to-date will be a focus of this training, but then we will turn our focus to some of the coding and billing regulations that can make even the seasoned ortho executive frustrated, such as skilled care patient visits in the office setting, fracture care patients from the ED, closed fracture care vs. office visit copays, and much more.

Biography
Ms. DeConda’ s career has been spent solely in healthcare beginning as the check in receptionist and progressing through areas to include medical assisting, respiratory therapy, practice management, billing and denials support, practice liaison, in-office practice coding/auditing/educating, and 15 years ago Shannon DeConda’ s career path led her to establish NAMAS, the National Alliance of Medical Auditing Professional.
NAMAS was the first organization to formally education and certify medical auditors. Today Ms. DeConda is the president of NAMAS which is a division of DoctorsManagement in which she is a partner and has been with them now for 19 years.
