Value based approach to MIPS: : Improving Your MIPS Score
1:45 PM - 2:30 PM EDT
The Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) score determines future Medicare payment adjustments (both bonuses and penalties) for your practice. Available measures, scoring criteria, and measure rules are complex and ever-evolving. Orthopedic practices have raised concerns that limitations of specialty-specific MIPS measures makes the program burdensome for doctors and discourages practices from even attempting to improve their scores and avoid a penalty. To combat the high cost of training and implementation of the ever-changing rules of MIPS, learn how one practice has selected measures based on benchmark scores and automated them to be the most efficient and cost effective way to avoid the up to 9% of negative adjustments for noncompliance.
