Adding Occupational Medicine to the Partnership Track

Deciding to add a new line of service is always an exciting and daunting endeavor. The decision to proceed requires research, development of a business plan, a proforma analysis, and detailed understanding of your local market. Then, once the decision to expand is made, getting all of the necessary resources, including people, technology, contracts, and workflows, in place requires dedicated, focused time by practice leaders and staff. This session will provide a case study of an orthopedic practice that has recently added an Occupational Medicine physician to their partnership track. The presenter will share lessons learned, unexpected obstacles, and the pros and cons of adding the Occupational Medicine service line, as well as recommendations for practices considering adding this or other service lines to their practice.
